Acupuncture,
a method of natural therapy, has been used in China for thousands of years and
has become one of the most popular and successful therapies of complementary medicine throughout the world. It can stimulate
the body's self-healing process and help restore its natural balance. A wide
range of illnesses can be treated by acupuncture which include diseases of
internal organs, infertility, asthma, irritable bowel syndrome, multiple
sclerosis, as well as painful symptoms in bones, muscles, joints and skin
(such
as sport injuries, back pain, etc).
Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine needles into the body surface at various points. Using sterilised and disposable needles, the treatment is harmless and virtually painless. A session of treatment varies from 20 to 60 minutes. It can produce immediate results but more often it requires a number of treatments over a period of time. Generally one acupuncture course consists of six sessions.
